In 1996, Marty Boroson had an overwhelming, mystical experience in which he received the idea to express the deepest mystical teachings in the form of a childrens book, and he 'heard' its remarkable first line, "Once upon a time, I was." From this, he wrote Becoming Me, a creation story from the divine point-of-view, illustrated by Christopher Gilvan-Cartwright.
Becoming Me went on to win praise from scientists, psychologists, and leaders of many faiths. It has been the subject of religious sermons, featured in the Philosophy for Children program, and has been used to promote ecological and interfaith awareness.
